The Ellen Degeneres GapKids Collection
Ellen Degeneres is teaming up with Gap to create a children’s collection. The 57 year old t.v host of the Ellen Degeneres show is coming up with collections, which is termed the GapKids x ED.
Ellen’s clothing and lifestyle brand, ED, as we all know, is a huge voice for young girls finding their selves, so the collaboration with Gap makes all the power extra.
“Gap has always encouraged people to be themselves, and I love that they have the same values that I have: to be true to who you are and to wear cute pants,” Ellen said. “I know from my own experience that nothing makes you feel better than being who you are and celebrating what makes you unique. I think if we shine a light on real girls doing incredible things, that’ll encourage other girls and boys to do incredible things, and that’ll encourage even more people to do incredible things, and eventually the world will be a more incredible place.”
The amazing campaign features “inspiring real-life girls” which includes pro-Skateboarders, a young entrepreneur, a professional drummer, and even a 9-year-old engineer of prosthetic hands. The campaign urges children to take selfies in the collection and share words of strength and encouragement with their contemporaries around the world.
“Let’s be honest, kids love selfies. Even I’m guilty of taking a selfie if I’m in a really cute outfit. So imagine how many girls around the world could bond through selfies in really cute outfits. They could break the Internet,” Ellen said.
Well we are going to be watching out for the selfies.
